It is International Yoga Day and some of our favourite Bollywood divas have shared what they love about the ancient Indian discipline. On top of the list was Shilpa Shetty, who is a Yoga enthusiast and works closely with applications that teach Yoga to the general public. On International Yoga Day, Shilpa Shetty shared a video of herself - decked up in black shorts and a neon top - performing the Vriksasana, also called the tree pose. Vriksasana is the combination of two Sanskrit words: Vriksha meaning tree and Asana, which means posture. In style and with peace of mind, we may just be compelled to start our yoga journey ourselves.

Shilpa Shetty also added a voiceover in the background of the video. She starts by chanting a mantra, and further says, “This yoga mantra is a prayer for all beings everywhere. To be happy and free. I pray the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute to happiness and freedom for all. This yoga day, I encourage each and everyone one of you to make yog and meditation a part of your lives. Only to help you lead better, healthier and happier lives.” It is not just on Yoga Day though that she practices this lifestyle, but on all days of the week.
This year, the theme of International Yoga Day 2023 is “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.” This theme rightfully captures the shared aspiration for “One Earth, One Family, and One Future.”
