There are fitness enthusiasts and then there are people who take their fitness to new heights. Sun Punan belongs to the latter group and he was rewarded for it with nothing less than a Guinness World record. A fitness instructor, Sun Punan performed the highest jump from a kneeling position. The total jump was across a distance of 76 cm (29.92 inches) which was a record-setting standard. What is most interesting about Sun, beyond his recent achievement though, is the story of his journey to get here.
This fitness instructor has no doubt been practising his fitness routine religiously but also showed us how even when coming from a humble background, with dedication and practice one can achieve one's goals. The Instagram handle of Guinness World Records captioned the post about his win with more about his journey "A popular fitness influencer on Douyin and Kuaishou in China, Sun started exercising in middle school, initially because he was relativity small and afraid of being bullied. Today he shares regular videos of exercise sessions with his parents and grandparents, staying fit together. The post included this hashtag "#officiallyamazing"

After receiving the award, San posed with his fitness class students who looked as excited as much as their instructor.

San Punan made the task of jumping while kneeling down look easy, but the task is a difficult one and would not be managed without a great amount of fitness and practice. For a successful jump what you will need is:
- Legs Strength: The main element in trying this jump is the strength of the legs which can be developed by working out with weights focusing on the lower-body muscles
- Core Strength: Strength of core and gut strength is mandatory with any form of jumping exercise. Core strength can be built by practising yoga, and pilates.
- Upper-body strength: Upper-body muscles need to be strong as well in order to assist with the move.
According to Guinness World Records, Sun Punan said after his win, "Now that I have a GWR title in lower body strength, I want to try to break a record in upper body strength next. I want to see where my limits are." The example of this record-maker proves that anything is achievable with grit, practise and determination.
