Princess Diana was many things but a boring closet is not something she'd have been caught with. She had a versatile sense of style and often breached royal protocol true to her rebellious nature. She is remembered for her very many style statements but one such lives on forever and that was Princess Diana's iconic 'revenge dress' designed by Chris which she wore right after Prince Charles' tell-all announcement of his infidelity. Two decades later, Elizabeth Debicki recreated that famous moment as she was spotted on the sets of the new season of The Crown and let's just say that the resemblance is rather uncanny. The off-shoulder dress, the pearl choker, the 'Diana haircut' and the 'cleavage bag' are just some of the things that the costume department got absolutely spot on among other things. Fans of the show and the late Princess worldwide obviously couldn't keep calm but then again, can you blame them?
The makers of The Crown have spent extra attention to detail when creating iconic looks to resemble the royal family and Princess Diana's looks in particular were far beyond the ordinary. Her wedding dress being one of them! Apart from Emma Corrin's stark resemblance to the late Princess, the wedding dress looked identical to Princess Diana's David and Elizabeth Emmanuel ivory silk creation.
It is no surprise then that Princess Diana's wedding dress went on to be displayed at the Royal Kensington Palace. The iconic dress features a fitted bodice with panels of antique Carrickmacross lace on all sides that had initially belonged to Prince Charles' great-grandmother Queen Mary.
